"The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has announced the commencement of advance registration for the 2024 pilgrimage, starting from April 15. In a statement released yesterday, the board provided details of the registration process and the pilgrimage schedule. According to the board, the 2024 Amarnath Yatra will begin on June 29 and conclude on August 19.
Located 141 kilometers from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the holy cave of Amarnath is situated at an average height of 12,756 feet. Every year, millions of devotees from across the country are drawn to this sacred site. During the Shravan Mela in July-August (according to the Hindu calendar), devotees throng the temple's sacred precincts to worship 'Baba Barfani' (the ice lingam). This is the only time of the year when the Amarnath cave is accessible.
The annual Amarnath Yatra is considered one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages. The shrine board has made elaborate arrangements for the devotees, including provision of tents, sanitation facilities, and medical aid. The board has also appealed to the devotees to follow the rules and regulations and to take care of their health and safety during the pilgrimage.
The registration process for the 2024 Amarnath Yatra will begin on April 15, and devotees can register online or through designated registration centers. The board has advised devotees to register well in advance to avoid any last-minute hassles.
The Amarnath Yatra is a significant event in the Hindu calendar, and the shrine board is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the pilgrimage. With the commencement of advance registration, devotees can now start planning their journey to the holy cave of Amarnath.
